Toot! Toot! Thomas the Tank has Arrived!

Guess who has arrived at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay this week. It's Thomas the Tank Engine, everyone's favorite storybook engine!
The National Railroad Museum is hosting Day Out With Thomas, the Go Go Thomas Tour of 2013 from June 12- 16. There are still a few tickets available for this extremely popular event. It is highly recommended that you get them ASAP as they do go fast.
There's truly something for everyone in the family. Take a 25 minute train ride. Get your picture taken with Thomas or Sir Topham Hatt. Enjoy storytelling and video viewing. Play at the bouncy house. Get a temporary tattoo. Get hand-on with arts and crafts at the Imagination Station. Explore the permanent exhibits of the National Railroad Museum, including the new Jodey Lenfestey Children's Depot. All activities are included in the $18 per ticket price.
And don't forget to chow down on concessions and get the latest in Thomas gear- from keychains to apparel to toys.
The National Railroad Museum can be found at 2285 S. Broadway in Green Bay, just a few blocks from the Stadium District.

Pictured Rocks Day

Plan to celebrate one of the U.P.'s most famous natural wonders at Pictured Rocks Day this Saturday, June 15 in Munising.
The Alger County Chamber of Commerce and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore folks have dedicated the day to promoting the area's beauty through exhibitors, family activities, live music and FREE cruises for Upper Peninsula residents.
Events will take place from 11 a.m.- 10 p.m. in Bayshore Park in Munising. Local entertainers include Jan Arnold, Monica Giles Band, Flat Broke Blues Band, and the Drive Band. Admission is FREE!
Yoopers Ride Free Cruises will leave the Munising City Pier every hour, on the hour, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (weather permitting).  Be sure to bring your driver's license if you want to ride for free because Pictured Rocks Cruises will be checking that you have a valid Upper Peninsula I.D.

Bridging the Arts DePere

Looking for something cool and free to do this Friday evening?
Check out Bridging the Arts on Friday, June 14 from 5-8 p.m. in downtown De Pere. This is an art walk put on by Definitely De Pere that showcases DePere's 30 plus downtown businesses, local artists, entertainers and food vendors. L
isten to a little live music, hop on a Segway shuttle to cross the bridge in either direction, view and purchase photography, pottery, mosaics, graphic arts, paintings, mixed media, henna, ceramics and much more!

A Great Lakes Football Summertime Rivelry

We all know that Green Bay is home to the highest paid quarterback in NFL history but did you know that Green Bay has a football franchise where players play just for the fun of it?
No, I'm not talking about the Packers or the indoor football Blizzard. I'm talking about the Green Bay Grizzlies. They are new this year and are based out of Howard. They are a semi-pro team with the slogan "made by the players, for the players."
Here's another question. Did you know that the U.P. has a football team? Yup, they are called the U.P. Arctic Blast. They play from May through August on various fields throughout the U.P. (Norway, Powers and practices in Kingsford.)  
These two teams played one another this past weekend and I'm afraid to say that the Grizzlies made fine work out of the Arctic Blast team on home turf.
It's all for the love of the game though, right? Fans get to watch football in June and July without having to pay a big price. Grizzlies games are just $5 for adults, $3 for students and free for ages 5 and younger.  Concessions and team gear are available at the games.
