Let's go strawberry pickin'

I think after the long, cold winter we had, we deserve a little treat from Mother Nature. That's right- strawberries. I've already spent countless hours peeling, chopping, and cooking down rhubarb from my mother-in-law's garden. Now it's time for that rhubarb to be paired with the sweet, tantalizing taste of strawberries. I've heard that they will be ripe for the picking around June 22.There are several places beyond the produce aisle to get these colorful berries for pretty cheap. Okay, I know all winter we fantasized about summer but now that the temps and humidity are high, it's time to figure out the best way to get out of the heat. So gather up the troops and head to your nearest cinema.
If you are in the U.P., head over to Carmike Cinema (Varsity Cinema) in the Soo. Every Thursday through early August at 10 a.m. admission is just $4. This also includes a small popcorn and a small drink.
