Get ready for fruits and veggies!

Due to the late growing season, my husband and I are just getting our seeds planted and garden roto-tilled this weekend. It's going to take awhile for our plants to grow and produce a harvest. However, I'm feeling more and more that is time for FRESH fruits and veggies to adorn my dining room table. I'm SO excited that the farmer's markets are starting. Check out this information about the Broadway Farmer's Market in Green Bay.

Farmers’ Market on Broadway Starts June 5th
It’s time to kick off summer with the Tenth Annual BayCare Clinic Farmers’ Market on Broadway (FMOB) startingWednesday, June 5, 2013. With nearly 200 vendors lining the downtown streets of the Broadway District, between Walnut and Dousman Streets, the Farmers’ Market on Broadway is bigger than ever!  The FMOB vendors offer a wide variety of products, ranging from fresh, locally grown produce to crafts and specialty goods. Enjoy live music while strolling through an eclectic mix of booths, including unique Broadway businesses.  Have a delicious meal at one of the many prepared-food vendors, stop in at one of Broadway’s outstanding restaurants or enjoy beverages from local brewers and vintners. The Market runs every Wed. beginning June 5st through October 16th. Get ready for a summer filled with free entertainment and unique shopping experiences.
Keeping it on the Street! Broadway will be closed every Wednesday between Walnut and Dousman Streets. Vendors face the middle of Broadway. The sidewalks will be open for patrons of the market to walk, as well as having the opportunity to visit Broadway stores more easily.
Where Can I Park? Free parking is available at various Downtown Parking Ramps, Leicht Park, Larsen Green, and the Green Bay Public School District lots. BMO Harris Bank will be open after 5:30 p.m. The owners of the lot behind Hinterland Brewery will be charging a $3 parking fee.
Entertainment! The BMO Harris Main Stage musical line-up for the market has been set, and includes some regular favorites as well as a few new acts. Nicki Sims starts the year out on June 5, followed by Erin Krebs on June 12, and some great performances by John Lambert, Randy Bruce, Rob Anthony, and many more popular performing artists. The BMO Harris North Stage will feature Hooked on Hooping, hula hooping to the music. For a complete listing, please visitwww.farmersmarketonbroadway.com
Refreshments! Visit the Farmers’ Market On Broadway’s expanded Beverage Booth for some refreshments, including water, soda, and microbrews from Titletown Brewing Co., Hinterland and other choices, along with wines from Von Stiehl and Captain’s Walk Winery.
Shopping! Local businesses in the Broadway District will be open late to allow for the ultimate downtown shopping experience.
