Green Bay's newest hot dog spot

Pat's Grand Opening in Time for Summer Hot Dog Season

Pat’s (227 N. Washington St.) will host an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, May 31 at 11:30 a.m.followed by a public grand opening event on Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The ribbon cutting event will include comments by owner Pat Reetz, City of Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt and Downtown Green Bay, Inc. and Olde Main Street, Inc. Executive Director Jeff Mirkes. Lunch specials will follow the event. The Saturday grand opening party will feature free “Dirty Dogs” with any lunch combo purchase and music from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. by the Sugar Bush Boys. The “Dirty Dog” is a hot dog with dill pickle spears topped with chocolate sauce.

The business is quickly becoming Green Bay’s best “hot dog” spot. They have 14 different hot dog options on the menu along with a long list of sandwiches, soups sides and bakery items. They have plans to participate in Nicolet Bank’s Dine the Deck series this summer as well as provide boater-friendly services to attract those docking at CityDeck this summer. They have also played a role in many charitable causes; including daily donations to St. John’s Homeless Shelter. Pat’s currently employs 8 people.

Pat’s is owned by entrepreneur and hot dog lover Pat Reetz. Reetz envisioned opening a restaurant about 5 years ago when he was working construction and always looking for a good hot dog. “We believe our unique product mix, friendly atmosphere and location in the heart of Downtown Green Bay will solidify us as a must-stop eatery. We see a large range of customers from construction workers to professionals to kids visiting the Children’s Museum. Our quick yet tasty options attract a wide demographic downtown.”
